Step-by-Step Instructions for Creating Lyrics Used by the Music & Lyrics App
It seems it's a bit confusing for people to use the Music & Lyrics app, so we decide to explain how it works in this post. The current Music & Lyrics on the Mac App Store doesn't have the ability to search lyrics on the Internet, this is due to copyright issues. We're working on another Pro version to support that, if we are lucky to get the right to do so.
In the mean time, you need to create lyrics in LRC format (which is the format used by Music & Lyrics) by yourself. Don't worry, it's not difficult. We know it's inconvenient that users need to create lyrics by self, and that's why we're working on the Pro version, but it takes time to solve the copyright issue. Stay tuned.
The following is a step-by-step instruction for creating the lyrics used by Music & Lyrics, it's actually very simple once you get the idea. Here we go.
Step 1. Play a song in your iTunes
Play any song in your iTunes, and we will create the lyrics of this song that can be read by Music & Lyrics. More specifically, lyrics in LRC format.

Step 2. Open the Lyrics Manager
The Lyrics Manager is the heart of Music & Lyrics. If you want to create or change lyrics, the Lyrics Manager is your best friend.

Step 3. Import plain lyrics to the Lyrics Manager
Click the Import button to import your plain lyrics. The Text option allows you to paste plain lyrics. The File option allow you to import LRC lyrics from ".lrc" files. The iTunes option can be used to import the plain lyrics saved in the music file, if it's there.

Step 4. Sync timestamps of every lyrics line
Now the most important part. Click the Sync Time button to enter the Time-Sync Mode. Then you can click the first lyrics line and play your song from the start. Once the singer sings to the first line, click the Update Time button to apply the current playing position to that selected lyrics line. Repeat this step until you sync timestamps with every lyrics lines, and click the Done button after you're done. You can also double click the valid timestamp to let iTunes play at that time position. It's very useful if you want to re-sync timestamps.

Step 5. Apply the time-synced lyrics
Now you should have the lyrics with synced timestamps. You then just need to click the Apply button to apply the created lyrics. Once you click the Apply button, the created lyrics (in LRC format) will be saved to the lyrics field of the playing track. So the next you play the same song, you don't need to re-create the lyrics that can be read by Music & Lyrics again.

Try it out, it's actually not that hard once you've finished the instructions above. We'll soon have an update that fixes many bugs of the current version (v1.0.0). If you found something wrong or unclear, just leave a comment below to let us know. Thanks.
