Do you always have no idea what a singer is singing about? I do, and that's why I always want a great lyrics app for my Mac. Unfortunately, I couldn't even find any one that is good enough for me. So, I decided to write my own one, we named it "Music & Lyrics", a very self-explanatory name.

Unlike other lyrics apps, Music & Lyrics takes advantage of LRC, which is a computer file format that synchronizes song lyrics with an audio file. Therefore you can see the exact lyrics of what a singer is currently singing. (That's all you need to know about LRC, you don't need to understand the details of LRC. Music & Lyrics takes care of it.)

Take a look at this screenshot to get the idea of the Desktop Lyrics in Music & Lyrics. The lyrics displayed at bottom is determined by the current playing position in your iTunes.

And of course you can change the appearance to whatever you like.

Music & Lyrics is designed to be simple and easy to use. Whenever you play a song in iTunes, it will search lyrics in LRC format on the Internet that corresponded to your current playing track automatically. Most Chinese lyrics (85% up) and partial English and Japanese lyrics (about 40%) could be found. Some Korean lyrics (about 20%) and few lyrics in other languages may be found as well.

If the found lyrics is not correct or there are no matched lyrics found on the Internet. You can select other matched lyrics or just create your own one very easily by using the well-designed Lyrics Manager. The found lyrics or manually edited lyrics can be saved to the "lyrics" field (in LRC format) of the corresponded iTunes track so the next time you play the same song. No online search is required anymore and you always see the fine-tuned lyrics. Note that this function is not turned on by default because it will overwrite the orignal content saved in the lyrics field. It is recommended to turn on this feature however.

Music & Lyrics also includes a Lyrics Panel, which is an always-on-top window that shows you the full lyrics. And the lyrics reflected to the current playing position is highlighted as well.

The last feature I want to show you is about Artwork. You can decide whether to display the artwork of the current playing track in iTunes as the app icon of Music & Lyrics on the Dock. Or better, you can get noticed when the current playing track changed.

Please note that we're trying to acquire the rights to use copyrighted lyrics legally, so this app won't be released until we have the rights.
